Scanning and Reporting from a Matrix Switcher

Jerusalem, Israel – December 20, 2005 – Kramer Electronics, Ltd., a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment for the broadcast, production, security, education, home theater and ProAV presentation markets, is pleased to announce the newest addition to its product line, the VP-1201 computer graphics video matrix switcher/scanner.
The Kramer VP-1201 is a 400 MHz high bandwidth 12x1 switcher for computer graphics video signals with resolutions ranging from VGA through UXGA on 15-pin HD connectors. In addition to functioning as a 12x1 switcher, the VP-1201 can also operate as a 12 input scanner with a user selectable switching delay interval of between 1 and 16 seconds. A very unique feature of the VP-1201 is that it can automatically sense the presence of a signal at each input and will display the availability of input signals by lighting up the corresponding input button on the front panel. This feature is known as Active Input Indication™ reporting.
“The new VP-1201 is a very versatile switcher and scanner for computer graphics video signals,” states Chris Kopin, vice president of Product Development for Kramer Electronics USA. “The Active Input Indication reporting incorporated into the unit is a very user friendly feature that will allow them to know at a glance which of the inputs has an active signal.”
The VP-1201 can be controlled remotely over the World Wide Web or via a WAN or LAN through the Ethernet port provided. It can also be controlled directly from the front panel or remotely via RS-232, RS-485, or the included RC-IR1 infrared remote control. For convenient RS-232 control this model is shipped with K-Router™ Windows® based control software.
The VP-1201 is dependable, rugged, and fits in one vertical space of a standard 19” professional rack enclosure (1RU). It contains a world wide 100/264 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 23VA auto-switching power supply.
The Kramer VP-1201 is now in stock and available through Kramer Electronics sales companies worldwide.
