Jerusalem, Israel – February 22, 2005 – Kramer Electronics, Ltd., a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment for the broadcast, production, security, education, home theater and ProAV presentation markets, is pleased to announce the newest additions to its product line -- the VP-725DS video only and VP-725DSA video and audio ProScale™ Digital Scaler/Switchers. With 18 video inputs in 5 different formats and Kramer’s highly advanced K-Storm™ scaling technology, these models are perfect for routing multiple sources within multimedia systems in applications such as conference rooms, boardrooms, auditoriums, hotels and houses of worship.
“These new ProScale Digital Scaler/Switchers offer Kramer’s exceptional K-Storm™ advanced scaling technology along with an extremely wide selection of inputs in one complete package,” said Chris Kopin, Vice President of Product Development at Kramer Electronics. “These products provide unique and comprehensive one box solutions for any multimedia display application that requires high quality signal conversion and switching of multiple format video signals.”
The VP-725DS and VP-725DSA each have 18 video inputs, made up of five different signal type groups, one for composite video, one for s-Video (Y/C), one for component video (YUV or RGB), one for computer graphics video on 15-pin HD connectors and one for DVI signals. Four of the groups each have four inputs and one output. The DVI group accepts 2 DVI-D type inputs and has one output.
These models have two switching modes that function both independently and simultaneously. Video Group Mode is used to select the input from each group for switching to that group’s local output. In this mode these switchers operate as individual 4x1 switchers for each group (2x1 for DVI). Scaler Mode is used to select one of the video input signals to be switched to the three scaled output connectors; one 15-pin HD connector, one DVI-D connector and 5 BNC connectors for an RGBHV output.
The VP-725DS and VP-725DSA both offer numerous user-selectable scaled output pixel-rates including VGA (640x480), SVGA (800x600), XGA (1024x768), SXGA (1280x1024), UXGA (1600x1200), HDTV (480p, 720p and 1080i) along with several optimum plasma and projector rates, including 852x1024i, 1024x1024i, 1366x768, 1365x1024, 1280x720, 720x483, 852x480, 1400x1050, 576p, 720x400, 832x624, 1024x800, 1152x864, 1152x870,1152x900, 1280x960, 1280x768 and 1024x576. There is also one user-definable resolution.
In addition, the VP-725DS and VP-725DSA offer Kramer’s advanced K-IIT™ Picture-In-Picture image insertion technology for insertion of any video source into a graphics source, or vice-versa. The PIP image can be positioned and sized anywhere on the screen, or displayed as a split-screen image. The unit also contains Kramer’s unique FTB™ (Fade-Thru-Black) technology for clean, glitch-free switching.
The VP-725DSA adds a full set of audio features including a stereo balanced audio input corresponding to each of the 18 video inputs. It also offers an independent Master Audio output. Audio switching can be set up to follow video or to be broken away and switched independently. Volume can be adjusted on each input and output, and the Master output has a variety of controls including bass and treble controls. A microphone input is also available for mixing, switching or talk-over.
Both models have full ProcAmp controls for the scaler output. They feature selectable output color space (RGB or YPbPr) and a text overlay feature for easy insertion of subtitles or script. Both versions also offer intuitive, user-friendly on-screen displays and can be controlled by RS-232, IR remote control and Ethernet.
The VP-725DS and VP-725DSA are now in stock and available from Kramer Electronics sales companies around the world.
