At Kramer, it’s not just what we do that defines our success, it’s how we do it. Which is why we are committed to being good citizens of the world – as a company and as individuals. This includes safeguarding the wellbeing of our employees, ensuring fair interactions with customers and distributors, spearheading greener experiences, and basically, acting ethically and responsibly towards anyone who interacts with our company and our products.
Code of Conduct
At Kramer, we believe that being a good corporate citizen is vital to our wellbeing and sustainability at every level – for our company, employees, communities and the planet we all share. The Kramer Code of Conduct is our fundamental guide to achieving this. It lays out our commitments to ensure that working conditions in Kramer are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically.
As our starting point, we work in full compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the countries in which we operate. Furthermore, we follow the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA, formerly EICC®) Code of Conduct, the highest standard in business management systems. The RBA encourages companies to go beyond legal compliance, drawing upon internationally recognized standards, to advance social and environmental responsibility and business ethics.
The Kramer Code of Conduct defines how we act in five key areas:
- Workers
- Health and safety
- Environment
- Business ethics
- Management systems
- Workers
Kramer complies with local labor laws and trade agreements everywhere we operate. We are committed to upholding all workers’ human rights and treating them with dignity and respect as understood by the international community. This applies to all personnel, including temporary, migrant, student, contract, direct employees, and any other type of worker.
Voluntary employment
Kramer recruits and hires only people who want to join our team. We don’t use any forced or involuntary labor. During the hiring process, every worker will receive a written employment agreement in their own language that explains their job terms and conditions. Working at Kramer is always a choice, and employees are free to leave at any time without penalty if they give notice according to their contract.
Young workers
We never employ children. We support legitimate workplace learning programs that follow all rules and laws, and young workers will not be asked to do work that might risk their health or safety, including night shifts and overtime.
Working hours
Working hours at Kramer do not exceed the maximum set by local law, and are never more than 60 hours per week, and never more than 6 days per week, including overtime, except in emergency or unusual situations. All overtime is voluntary.
Wages and benefits
We compensate our workers according to all wage and benefits laws, for regular work and overtime. Each pay period, workers get clear wage statements, ensuring they’re paid accurately for their work.
Diversity & non-discrimination
Kramer is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all people regardless of race, color, age, religion, national origin, ethnicity gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran, or [dis]ability status to be a part of our team. We do not tolerate mistreatment or threats of any kind towards any worker. We have policies in place to ensure non-discriminatory hiring and compensation, and we provide reasonable accommodation for our team members’ religious practices.
